"There are people who for many reasons live in the shadows and fear being public about... some aspect of themselves that they don't have control over" Polis said of concerns shared between the Latino and LGBT communities. "Whether that's who they're attracted to or whether that's the fact that they lack some paper that other people have. They share that fear in common, and we can overcome that fear together arm-in-arm. GLAAD is an important part of that battle."
